Uncontrolled anger destroys lives. You may say “I can’t help myself, or anger isn’t something you can control.” Yes you can’t always control the situation when you are angry or how it makes you feel, but you can control how you express your anger. Anger can be expressed without being verbally, physically or emotionally abusive. Even if you are being pushed to it, you always have a choice about how to respond; it is wise to seek a professional help to find best choices. First we explore the reasons behind your anger; because if you don’t know why you are getting angry, it is difficult to control it. I provide you skills you can learn in a safe environment and practice in your daily life...

Grey Matters International and the work of Kevin J. Fleming, Ph.D approaches issues of anger management in a very humane yet fresh perspective. You see, anger is a normal emotion but it is the valence (intensity) as well as the coupling choice of what one does with this that is the problem. Telling someone to "not" do it or modifying behavior with a trite psychological plan that only breeds a compliant response is not the way to change anger. Brainwave optimization is a new cutting edge technology that allows one to rewire circuitry responsible for reactivity driving the anger. Anger is a complicated emotion that can be experienced as a primary emotion to an event or a secondary emotion in response to another unexpressed emotion. I work with my clients in unpacking the basis for their anger, identifying triggers to anger, finding healthy ways to express it, and processing any trauma or emotions hidden or unexpressed. I counsel my clients to find their internal strength and resources to process their anger and learn from it. I also counsel my clients to find resolution if they experience feelings of being stuck and hopelessness, helping them to find peace and joy

Anger is often a reaction to something deeper. It can be experienced as a quick event, from nothing to an explosion, but there is something valuable to understand between these two extremes. In working with anger, I focus on this in between by helping to connect the mind to the body’s experience and what we may notice is going on before anger arises. By building an awareness of what is going on, we can build better ways to understand the reasons behind the response and to intervene in more helpful ways.

“Speak when you are angry and you will make the best speech you will ever regret.” Ambrose Bierce Anger is often an intense emotional response that can negatively affect people’s lives. Many people struggle to manage and express their anger effectively due to often intense and overwhelming feelings. Families, work, friendships and one’s personal well-being can be destroyed unintentionally along the way. Although we cannot control anger provoking situations, we can learn step by step techniques for successfully and efficiently managing them. Through counselling we will work to access the issues provoking anger and outbursts, and develop tools to identify and effectively manage emotional triggers. When needed, we will also work with families and...(view profile to read more)

If a client comes to me with anger management, I would approach them with curiosity and examine the root cause of the anger. Depending on the source of the anger, I would determine what type of approach to use. For example if the anger was caused by a specific event, if the client agrees, we would explore that specific event in detail, as well as practical strategies to manage the existing anger. Approaches I use are Alderian therapy or EFT for treatment.

Anger is a healthy emotion and can be expressed as such if expressed appropriately. Anger can be internalized and go unexpressed and come out other ways or it can be externalized and become problematic or therapeutic. There is a balance, a more appropriate way to express anger. A healthier expression of anger can both define a healthier balanced self and improve your relationships.

It sucks to be angry and loose control of our emotions. Anger can have a devastating impact on the people we love the most. I will support you in addressing the emotions, trauma and pain underneath anger and learn to identify your triggers and patterns. I will teach you tools to address your stress and help you learn to better deal with your emotions. Learning to communicate our needs in a way that will be received is also a part of how I address anger issues.

I have successfully helped many clients over the years with anger management. The reality is we all have anger that sometimes becomes just too much to contain! This obviously could quickly cause us serious ramifications! If you ever get to that point, anger management can be incredibly helpful in many ways.
