For families who chose to attend therapy together Khara has a place for you. Khara is able to gain an understanding of each person's position in the room and use that to meet the needs of the family. Families will gain ways to communicate in ways that will allow each member to feel heard and understood. This leads to better problem solving over the long-term and families being closer to one another.

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy within the family context. I believe our thoughts leads to our feelings, thus influencing our behavior patterns/communication towards other family members. I also utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy given it's large emphasis on validating multiple feelings and experiences at a time, which is important to make space for given the variety of people making up the family unit.

Dr. Keller attemts to utilize the family as a support system to help patients recover from emotionally painfull experiences. Family therapy is often used as an adjunct to individual therapy. The transition between junior high and high school, along with high school to college, are stressful times for teens due to the change in their identity. During adolescence, teens are working on creating their identity and feeling comfortable in their world. This can cause chaos and confusion for the teen.
