Can my anger outbursts be treated with medication? The question should probably not be if it can be treated, but whether it should be treated with medication. Sometimes the anger is a symptom of a disorder, and the disorder needs to be treated. Highly driven men and women sometimes ‘act out’ their depression and have anger outbursts; clearly, they do not need anger management; they need medication for their depression. The elderly may also have anger outburst that are a symptom of a disorder, and then a pharmacological intervention is justified.
