Addiction brings pain and chaos individuals, couples and families. I see addictions as poor and destructive coping mechanisms and work with individuals and couples to interrupt the behavior and work to process the pain underlying the behavior. I am very familiar with 12 step programs and CSAT work that help individuals and couples make sense out of the addiction. I also work within a complementary framework of attachment and the importance of strong close inter-dependent, not co-dependent relationships with the most important people in one's life, family. Call me for a consult about your particular needs and situation.

As someone who has been sober since 2000, I can relate to those experiencing addiction to alcohol and drugs. I am not here to judge but to offer a space to feel safe to express the emotions and fears that go along with addiction. You deserve to talk with someone who can relate and offer the tools you need to get sober and maintain sobriety. This is the day to reach out for help.

I am an addiction specialist with over 20 years of addiction therapy experience and a PhD in addiction psychology. I use the bio-psycho-social-spiritual model and a holistic approach (in layman's terms - I work with each person as a unique individual). Some people benefit from 12 step approaches, other's do not. I have a wide range of tools in my tool box that help me to fine tune the treatment to the person - not the other way around. Recent brain imaging studies have convinced me that addiction is in the brain, not the bottle - and so I work extensively with people who have "process addictions" where gambling, sex, porn, internet, shopping, spending, and or gaming, are a problem.
