I provide a safe place to talk for individuals, families, and groups, in a variety of areas including personal development, relationships, anxiety, stress, and depression, and immigrant and cross-cultural issues and relationships.

I grew up in Montreal, Toronto, and Ottawa, and now my home is Edmonton. I studied psychology formally at the University of Ottawa (BA), Carleton University (BA High Honours) and Yorkville University (MA Counselling), and I am a member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists (OACCPP). As well, I lived outside of Canada for 12 years, and so gained some insight as to what it is like living in a completely different culture than what I grew up in.

The centre of my approach is in actively listening, and from there developing a plan to reach the goals you’ve set for yourself. From the outset we will determine what you want to achieve, and work towards it. Generally, I take a holistic approach – mind, body, and spirit balance – to help you get to where you want to be. When I say spirit, I am not necessarily referring to religion. Think of spirit more as your value structures. Living according to what is important to you leads to healthy living. Very often these can come in conflict with other.

Confidentiality is amongst my highest priorities. It’s important that you feel safe to talk about your concerns. There is a reason that this is such an important part of therapy. Often issues that have been locked away inside us and unknown are discussed. It can be distressing to think of those things coming out, despite the great relief, and so part of my job is to make sure they only get out so far, to a place where we can work on them and incorporate them into a new, positively functioning place in your life.

NOTE: I currently am accepting online counselling clients only.
